Yorkshire Endurance Rally

It has been announced this morning that this years Yorkshire Endurance Rally is to be cancelled.

Ilkey and District Motor club, the organisers of the event, have decided not to run this years Yorkshire Endurance - the final round of the championship.  This puts a strain on the championship by reducing the amount of qualifying events from five to four and thus only three scores counting.  As organises of this years championship we had hoped for consistency and confirmed events throughout the year and are therefore, looking at ways of bringing in a new ‘Enduro’ event to be organised by Chelmsford Motor Club in conjunction with Central Sussex, both established clubs.  The date will be 25/26th October and the event will count as the last round of the championship and therefore, allowing competitors the chance to continue scoring on the Welsh and in October and hopefully allowing the result to by fair for all.

Chelmsford Motor Club are currently looking into this possibility and have given strong indications that a good event can be organised and run within this time scale.  The event may take on a similar feel to that of this years successful EACS Endurance in April.  Please can we, as championship organisers and competitors support this rally in any way we can.  Obviously entries are important and championship points will be important for some crews, but marshals are key to any rally and vocal support on any internet forum can only be good not only for this event but for the future of Endurance Rallying.
